Resumes always leave out the most interesting details of the
jobs a person has held. My resume, for example, does not
mention that
- I have been kicked in the face by a cow while working on
a cattle farm in Idaho.
- While in the presidency of BYU’s student fan association,
I got to drive the “Cosmobile” and worked backstage on
the set of ESPN’s College Game Day.
- While working for a tile and stone subcontractor, I
landed my company a contract worth over a million dollars
for the City Creek development project in downtown Salt Lake City.
My resume does mention the experience I have had as an estimator,
working on a framing crew and managing the customer service
department of the nation’s 19th fastest-growing company. Here
you will find brief profiles of the organizations and
companies I have worked with as well as a brief summary of
my contributions to each.
Complete Merchant Solutions
Inc. 500's 19th fastest growing company in the nation, CMS
handles over a billion dollars in electronic transactions every
year. While with CMS, I managed a customer support call center,
implemented innovative and effective data management and analysis
tools for call tracking and customer satisfaction, and improved
the operations of the department to the point that a smaller staff
size was able to handle a larger work load.
Global Stone Inc.
GSI is a stone and tile subcontractor located in Orem, UT. While
there, I worked as an estimator and a project coordinator,
submitting bid proposals for new projects and managing the
material order for current projects. I managed the submittals,
RFI's, and purchase orders for of the Gila Valley LDS Temple in
Arizona, communicating with stone fabricators in China and the
Philippines for the profitable completion of the $350,000 project.
I also secured the bid for the stone and tile portion of block 75
of the City Creek development in downtown Salt Lake City, valued
at $1 Million, which was the largest project for the company
secured that year.
Cougar United
Cougar United was the official student fan association of Brigham
Young University athletics. Cougar United counted among its members
some of the most loyal and dedicated BYU fans. In addition to supporting
BYU's teams, the organization was focused on enhancing the experience
of BYU's student fans. During my
time on the organization's Executive Committee, I was involved in
helping Cougar United emerge from debt, expanding the membership base,
and implementing the "My Points" program that rewarded fan loyalty
with back-stage access to broadcasts, exclusive invitations to events
with coaches and players, and giveaways of prizes and BYU gear.
